Too Many Tomorrows
11/4/20261 min read
too many tomorrows wait for me
in all of them anxiety waits for me
my mind a vestige of haunts yet to come
it is both a blessing and a curse
the imagination humans possess
in one hand we can create vast
beautiful and wondrous worlds
in the other, we hold scenes of torments
and the hellishness of what might come
it’s only in the now my true peace lies
yet a million foot soldiers march me away
from this moment into the next
each day my mind battles to rest tranquil
fighting to forget the many tomorrows yet to come
