Principia et philosophia designandi/Site canon & Design philosophy

Canon

  • AI-free

  • Curiosity reigns

  • A space for multiple forms of writing

  • Inviting readers on an adventure

  • Imperfection is welcome

  • Simple design and minimal layout

  • A cosy space to honour the nervous system

  • Play over perfection

  • experimentation allowed

  • constellated pages rather than standalones

  • Curiosity as a compass

  • Highly privacy-friendly & I don't use Google Analytics.

    • My native in-built analytics tool operates at the server level only. It doesn't use any client-side cookies or tracking scripts that monitor user behaviours.

    • The only info I get is a simple traffic overview, including whether traffic is from mobile or desktop and viewers' countries. Nothing else. This is more than enough info for me.

    • Over-analysing my website traffic is needless and stressful. So I keep things simple online.

Design philosophy

  • Writing focused, minimum frills

  • Low distraction (no sidebars, pop-ups, irritating cookie consent banners, floating widgets or other vexations)

  • Minimalist and airy 'feel'

  • Lots of white space, visually calming

  • Low contrast colour blends

  • Readable text size with ample line spacing (1.8)

  • Low on visual clutter

  • Highly sensitive person (HSP) friendly. I'm a HSP person

  • Cosy and warm

  • Intuitive navigation

  • Decentering the reverse chronological 'blog layout'

  • Vibes: artsy, light academic, poetic, literary magazine, archaic, old english,
    AI-free

  • Clutter-free

  • Fonts: Basketville (header), Lora (body)

  • I made this site myself :-)

We're allowed to love more than one thing. We are allowed to pursue many interests. This space celebrates authenticity and walking my own creative path.
