Creating My Own Crap

I do wonder why, instead of seeking external validation in romantic liaisons and only landing on the trash pile of life. Heaped upon by rejection and lies. I could have written instead. Danced more, listened to more music, created more art, and talked to more peaceful souls.

All these wasted tears and dashed hopes emptied into the aether could have been prime fodder for my creativity.

These rituals are more nurturing to my soul, even if I feel like shit with the nonsense I spit out creatively. It’s my own nonsense. There is something about sitting with imperfection, yet trying to create beauty out of it anyway.

There's something wonderful about manifesting art or creative projects despite the weight of doubt and self-judgement. Rather than wait for the world to poo-poo our art, we gain a certain kind of quiet confidence in making our less-than-perfect art.

I'm getting comfortable with creating when no one is reading or praising me. When some even think what I write is a bunch of baloney. I'm making friends with my own crap, I suppose.

Create your art. Create your own crap.

It’s a much better ride!
